Mrs. Kathy Magee serves as our GCHS English Language Arts (ELA) Instructional Coach.  Prior to this position, she was a classroom language arts and technology teacher at both Carson Middle School and Greene County High School.  

Mrs. Magee’s coaching position places her as a key player in increased student achievement in English Language Arts.  To do this, she seeks to build-teacher capacity and understanding instructional data-driven practices that support ELA Georgia’s Standards of Excellence. She describes herself as an intrinsically motivated lifelong learner who seeks continuous self- improvement. 

Mrs. Magee is responsible for articulating the philosophy and vision of our school mission, supporting practices that contribute to student ownership of an encouraging social and emotional school culture, implementing our school wide improvement plan, and facilitating meaningful professional development.

Ms. Jimmie Gilbert serves as our GCHS mathematics/science Instructional Coach.  Her previous position was a classroom mathematics teacher at Carson Middle School.  

Ms. Gilbert’s success in the classroom has afforded her the opportunity to apply her skills to a larger population of students.  She does this by sharing instructional strategies, resources, and bringing evidence-based practices through modeling lessons that support the mathematics Georgia Standards of Excellence and national mathematics standards.  

Ms. Gilbert provides professional development individually and in a group setting to help expand and refine the understanding of literacy strategies, hands-on activities and other research-based effective instruction; all to support student learning and increase student achievement.
