Career and Technical Instruction (CTI)​ is a specialized intervention service designed to support high school students with disabilities that are enrolled in CTAE career pathway courses. CTI provides support for students in CTAE classes as well as assisting with transition from high school to either college or a career. CTI arranges opportunities for career exploration, cultural experiences, plus employability and leadership development through experience trips and trainings. CTI collaborates with Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency and High School High Tech to provide programs, information, and transition activities for a specific group of students to reduce the dropout rate, empower students to enter technological careers and facilitate a smooth transition to postsecondary education or careers. 

Didi Davis is originally from Arkansas where she completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology K-12 at the University of Arkansas.  She received a Graduate Assistantship from the University of Georgia in Intramural Sports while completing a Master of Arts in Teaching Degree in Physical Education and Sport Studies.  

Didi began teaching in Newton County in 2006 where she spent 15 years at a combination of both middle and high schools.  The majority of her service in Newton was spent teaching Health and Physical Education, but she also spent four years at RISE Academy, the alternative school.  Didi is passionate about working with students with behavioral or academic challenges.  She joined the GCCA staff during the 2021-2022 school year as the CTI Coordinator.  Didi was honored as the Georgia CTI New Coordinator of the Year for the 2021-2022 school year and continues to do a great job for our students.
